US Drug Enforcement Administration Proposes Enormous Increase in Cannabis & Psilocybin Research

“[The] DEA is proposing significant increases to the [Aggregate Production Quotas] of the schedule I substances psilocybin, psilocin, marihuana, and marihuana extract, which are directly related to increased interest by DEA registrants in the use of hallucinogenic controlled substances for research and clinical trial purposes.” [Link: federalregister.gov]

NY State Senate Confirms Oversight Positions for Cannabis Board

The state Senate late Wednesday confirmed a former Brooklyn assemblywoman and a prominent recreational marijuana advocate to lead the agencies that will regulate cannabis sales in New York, giving a major boost to the pot legalization process after ex-Gov. New Jersey Legal Cannabis Sales Exclude Majority of Edibles

While syrups, pills, tablets, capsules and chewable forms like gummy lozenges will be allowed, other edibles that resemble food products like brownies, cookies and chocolate are barred. “Products like cookies and brownies are not included because those are food products and are produced in commercial kitchens – not manufacturing labs,” [Link: nj.com]

Panama Legalizes Medical Marijuana Use

Oregon Sheriffs Raid Warehouse Filled With Over Three Tons of Illegal Weed

During the raid, investigators found more than 6,000 pounds of processed marijuana packaged for shipment, in addition to about $5,000 in cash. “Depending on where the shipment was headed, the street value of the drugs was approximately $15 million.” [Link: kdrv.com]
