Although March 8 marks
, celebrating the contributions of women in the cannabis industry isn’t something we honor just one day a year at High There.I personally have a lot of women to thank when it comes to my journey in the cannabis industry. First and foremost, I’m so lucky to have a mom who I look up to so dearly. She is a strong, entrepreneurial woman who has empowered me to follow my dreams, supporting me every step of the way. She continues to be one of my biggest supporters and most iconic inspirations.
I also had the opportunity to work under an incredible mentor in the cannabis journalism space. I started as an intern at CULTURE Magazine over a decade ago, and one of my most inspiring female mentors was the former Editor-in-Chief, Evan Senn. Senn is a creative powerhouse of a human being, and her strength and guidance was pivotal to me. She had more experience in journalism (and life in general) than me, and she really took me under her wing to help me push myself and grow into the leader I am today.
Without Senn helping me realize my potential, I wouldn’t have achieved serving as Editor-in-Chief of CULTURE (and eventually High Times), and I wouldn’t be High There’s Chief Content Officer today.
So, you can definitely say that I love the momentum of women supporting women in the industry, because it’s something I’ve lived through and continue to do, using my platforms to tell stories and support women in weed.
In honor of this day, here’s a glimpse into some of the wonderful females of cannabis that we’ve connected with in the past year. Read their stories below, and let us know who you’d like to see featured in the future!
