Freedom and 710: A Love Letter

Jamie Solis

By Jamie Solis

July 1, 2022

The first full month of our favorite sunny season has arrived! Join me in embracing all that is golden about summer.

As I enter my fifth month of being Editor in Chief of High There, I’m excited to tell you what our team has been up to in this monthly letter.

So far, my journey here has been nothing short of incredible. From networking at places like MJ Unpacked in New York to brainstorming on the most engaging content strategy, it’s been a blast. Some of the editorial highlights have included the very first article I penned for High There celebrating

, as well as creating gift guides for every holiday from to . Now that July is officially upon us, I’m eager to share the developments we have in store for you.

Heating Up

Nothing says “summertime” like a warm Fourth of July evening — blazing fireworks illuminate a dark sky as we take time with loved ones to rejoice in what it means to be American. Unfortunately, the Supreme Court’s recent decision to

Roe v. Wade has left populations of individuals feeling stripped of their freedoms and autonomy, while individuals including people of color and the LGBTQ community, anxiously anticipate their liberties will be threatened next.

This year, feelings around this patriotic holiday will be different for many of us, and my heart goes out to you. However, if you do choose to celebrate this day, let’s focus our energy on activism and honoring the stories of a very valuable group of activists who are also freedom fighters — U.S. veterans who went from protecting our country to embarking on a mission in purpose-driven cannabis advocacy.

There are so many selfless vets who are dedicated to helping others similar to themselves,

for access to products, resources and support against ailments that disproportionately affect vets, such as PTSD and anxiety. The reasons why these veterans have joined the cause are honorable, and they are worth celebrating.

The Holidaze Continue

Independence Day isn’t the only holiday that many of us associate with July. And if you’re experienced in the cannabis space, then you already know what I’m alluding to — the official

holiday of 710 (July 10, or when the number is turned upside-down). On July 10th every year, concentrate connoisseurs and cannabis companies shift the focus for consumption and marketing to honor all things OIL.

At High There, we love concentrates for both their medicinal and recreational qualities. On one hand, we know so many who depend on concentrated CBD products as a viable treatment. On the other hand, many of us might remember (or still) equate it with a silly or introspective, indulgent time of elevated bliss.

Bringing the Fire

It’s damn near impossible to really kick off the 710 festivities without the proper stash ahead of time. So, while you can find great deals on cannabis-infused products through local dispensaries and delivery services, you’ll also want to stock up on the items that’ll get you lifted in style. That’s why we’re introducing our

, featuring top products in the categories of vaporizers, dab rigs, nails and e-nails, dab tools, carb cabs, dab straws and more!

When it comes to flower lovers like myself, don’t think I forgot about you. Check out my latest

of the Helix x Highsman Edition. It’s not your typical one hitter.

Thanks for being a part of our community at High There! If you haven’t already, be sure to download our High There App through the

or to find your community, have great conversation and stay in-the-know. You can find me on the High There app @JamieSolis. Don’t be shy; stop by to say “high!”

Until next month, Happy 710!
